France the country is famous for many things from romance and the romantic Eiffel Tower, from Gourmet food to cheese and high fashion to the French Revolution, the country is one remarkable place on the entire earth, and the architecture of the Eiffel Tower is magic for more than hundred years and the romance of Paris is widespread across the boundaries and continents, the country gave us many things from the manifesto of communism to the wonder of the world but most importantly the nation shows us how to live with the glory of all amazing architecture and just enjoy the life.

Here we are going to discuss the art and the architectural culture of France during various time durations and the philosophy behind it along with the impact it created.

Medieval Architecture

In the time between pre-Romanesque and the Renaissance, medieval architecture was one of the most famous architectural styles of the time, all the amazing architecture built in between the medieval ages is called medieval architecture, from civil buildings to militaries most of the official buildings accepted medieval as one of standard architecture style and still we can witness some of the glimpses of medieval in European regions like any other famous architecture of the world.

Limestones and marbles were some of the elements most commonly used in neo-classical architecture, marbles were imported from various parts of the world. Hotel des Monnaies in Paris is constructed using a neo-classical architectural style the 17th-century building with faded white color is one of the finest buildings in the entire of Paris, we can witness the grandeur scale of the neo-classical architecture and all the credit goes to Jacques Denis Antoine.

Beaux Arts Architecture

Beaux-art architecture is another French country with exceptional architecture, more than just architecture, Beaux-arts was even used as a syllabus in French art schools between the 18th and 19th centuries, it is considered one of the very important French styles and it introduced modern architecture with features of renaissance, gothic and neoclassical architecture mixed.

After the end of World War 2, the world witnessed many things from advanced technology to the improved version of many things, architecture too witnessed advancement at the end of World War 2, and the birth of modern architecture is still the greatest revolution ever made in architectural history.

The usage of glass and iron was never in the concept of architecture till the 19th century, modern architecture introduced an entirely new feature of architecture and changed the entire world to follow its characteristics, today you can see almost every piece of architecture from the 20^th century and after is made and use glass and steel as one of the core components of the architecture, that’s what the modern architecture did to the world.

Most of the official buildings constructed after the Second World War were constructed using the modern architectural style, for its formal look and neat structure it impressed most people all over the world.

Centre Pompidou in Paris is an admirable modern architecture building, there are more than twenty modern architectural buildings in Paris and France but this is one remarkable for the raw structure like without makeup it shows the true color of modern architecture.

Contemporary Architecture

While the world witnessed magic through modern architecture, contemporary architecture showed them a step further of what architects and architecture can do by making contemporary architecture, the freedom of architecture is called contemporary where an architect can do anything he wishes to do and give it life.

Historicism is a collective architectural style that is to recreate the historic styles and reestablishs the work of historic artisans, combining different elements can create a completely different style from the former one, from baroque to vernacular everything will come under historicism architecture.

Romanesque Architecture

Romanesque is one of Europe’s most famous and widely recognized architecture by using most ancient Roman elements and characteristics being influenced heavily by the architectural philosophy and style, we can witness that the majority of cathedrals, and symmetries in central Europe are of Italian Romanesque architecture style.

Our entire life revolves around art in many forms from what we hear to where we live everything is a fine-composed art.

ART

Art has a long history in civilization, it history about as early as when humans started a fire using stones, the earliest art forms are found as visual arts, the creation of paintings in rocks and drawing images in the sands are the earliest forms of art, even today the same visual art form is continuing in advanced and updated versions.

Anything that soothes the human mind and heart is art from music to drawing of a highly constructed building, the art then evolved into paintings with colors and then sculptures, rock paintings, and finally it evolved as digital paintings.

Some civilizations are even identified by their art form, ancient Greece is well known for its art and culture even today, the Europeans are well known for their achievement of art, and even today every person on earth admires their artwork, if we look back at the history there’s nothing but a pile of arts here and there, the efficiency of any civilization ever lived is determined by the art they left in the earth.

If we look deep into the way we live our life it evolves around art with or without our knowledge and the technology today helps us to connect with art more reliably than anywhere in history, it all started with that homo sapien who sketched rock using sharp-edged stones.

Art comes in many forms simply it just makes humans more creative by doing it again and again, if we are about to define art simply it is the form of expressing oneself, from kids starting artwork in school to paintings and sculptures protected in museum art have many forms and a long story to tell, today it attained digital level.

Art plays two major purposes self and motivation the self is an expression of oneself in many different forms, some people take the brush and just paint all day long without any purpose or without any motivation, they just express their opinions.

Like any other field design also has its own style and philosophy, it also has several principle steps to begin, and to conclude, there are two major part of the design in architecture which is exterior and interior design.

Interior Design

Interior design involves a lot of creativity and things to be done in a proper way according to the design type chosen, interior design have as much more than twenty-plus types but has core concepts like simplicity, modern, country, fancy, ethnic, and chaos we can sum up all of the interior architecture design concepts into this.

In architecture interior design has a major role to play, no matter what the architecture outside is we are going to live on the inside, so it does matter more that the interior design process is done according to the user preference.

Decorations, the color of paint, antiques, and objects chosen along with the style of furniture define the interior, the core purpose of the interior is to make sure it spreads peace, calm, royal, minimalism, and other such things.

Exterior Design

Exterior design is also a major part of architecture as it defines the outcome, before the architectural revolution in the mid-19th century there was no such thing called interior design it was all defined by the one who owned the architecture but the exterior design had been always there from the beginning.

From placing trees in the right place to the texture of the lawn near the car parking everything defines the exterior of any building, a lot of processes are being done to make the exterior design perfect or adaptable for the house or building.

There is another such thing while designing like color psychology which defines the major impact of design, each color holds a unique property like boldness, positivity, calm and peace, negativity, and much more, the entire design process revolves around only two major things, choosing the right color and choosing the right object to be placed at the right place.

Art, architecture, and design are a concept that revolves one around another, these three things not only define our lifestyle but revolves around our entire life from each and everything, Art is the core function of the two without it the other two will not function.

To conclude all three in a very simplified way art is the beginning (birth), architecture is the body and design gives it life, all three are evolved by the time being and transformed into something which is adaptable and acceptable.

Some of the architects like Frank Lloyd Wright, Le Corbusier, Ieoh Ming Pei, Erich Mendelsohn, and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, played a major role in structuring modern architecture and presenting it to the world.

The Louver Pyramid, BT Tower, and Royal National Theatre are some living examples of magnificent modern architecture and how they made an impact on the world and the art society.
