Mumbai is a place of many things from the soothing roadside beach to the economic showdown of India it is a city of many such wonders, but when it comes to architecture in the southern side of Mumbai there’s a man named Sanjay Puri who does magic with his architecture style.

From working under Hafeez’s contractor in their early college days to beginning his career at the end of college Sanjay Puri was an architect even before he graduated, today he has an empire with 72 highly effective architects who changed the way of architecture in India, every project with its own unique design and creativity that’s the motto of Sanjay Puri architects “one of best architect firm in India”.

Sanjay Puri is an internationally recognized architect and is well known for his Avant-Garde architectural style which includes modernism as its core concept and futuristic architecture, in all of his work he makes sure to make architecture more sustainable and design which is never there before, each of his work resembles a new design.

With 13 consecutive awards for construction world’s architectural awards and more than 100+ internationally recognized awards Sanjay Puri is a boom in the Indian architect market, by graduated from Rachana Sansad Academy of Architecture in Mumbai and working under renowned Hafeez contractor Sanjay Puri had a long way around architecture and today he is here, an internationally recognized Indian architect.

“Avant-Garde is a term that refers to going through something new rather than staying and fitting in the old”, Avant-Garde is used in politics, the army, and art too, to the aging of architecture Avant-Garde is considered similar to futuristic architecture which is more sustainable as the time grows.

Being inspired by an architect at a young age, Sanjay Puri strived for something new and something creative and being worked under Hafeez’s Contractor and his contemporary architectural style Sanjay Puri finally fitted into the Avant-Garde architecture, something which looked and strived for new rather than influencing the old architectural style.

His unique architectural style made a trademark in the Indian architectural field and internationally too, he made sure that each of his architecture is different from one another.

18 Screen House

Ludwig Mies Van Der- Today at the start of 2020, the world is so modern and we have all the advanced technology of the world of all time, but when we look through history we have architecture as the only proof of the evolution of civilization, Some people structured the roadmap of architecture and here we are seeing about one such person who designed the modernism in a very simplified version.

Mies Van Der Rohe, the name which echoes in the tall American buildings and in the world of modern minimal architecture, being born in Aachen, Germany, Mies is strongly inspired by minimalism, “less is more” that’s what represents each of his work when the world is looking for attractions, mies looked deeper into simplicity and it made him become the master in his work.

Mies lived in the present all the time and thought in the same way, he often refers “We don’t look into the history of civilization, we look into the civilization we live”, and he looked into the present and created the architecture for it, he uses industrial steel and plate glass in all of his architecture and it becomes the international style of architecture afterward, rather than being inspired by the legendary architects, he himself becomes one by creating his own style.

Mies van loved modernism and minimalism so he combined both and created art out of it, he also had an urge to show the interior to the world and he did it in his work.

Being one of the greatest architects of the 20th century, mies refers to his work as “skin and bone”, today his work is the face of Chicago and its modern buildings, the style of Mies van inspired many and that’s how the entire world took his idea and recreated buildings with the use of more steel and glass to represent the modernism.

Of all the work he did, it represented a classy way to create an impact at first sight, all of his work looks neat, simple, and yet modern.

If you go to the busiest city in the world and see a tall tower with plain beauty, that’s the Seagram building in the heart of New York City, it is one such fine work of mine.

Barcelona pavilion

Barcelona Pavilion is one of the epic works done by Mies Van at the early stage of his career, to till date it stands as an identity of modern-minimalism, Mies isn’t just a legendary architect but also a legendary designer, the design of the Barcelona chair is the masterclass design by the master Mies Van de rohe.

Farnsworth House, Chicago

Farnsworth House, Chicago Federal Complex and Crown Hall, Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library, 860-880 North Lake Shore Drive, Lafayette Park,  Cullinan Hall at Museum of Fine Arts, Houston – are other fine works by Mies van.

Apart from being an architect, Mies Van was also positioned as the head of the architecture school at the Armour Institute of Technology and also served as director of Bauhaus(a famous German art school).

Today at the start of a whole new year we all are studying about different people who achieved in their work and life, but If we look deeply into their works, they all followed their originality, they created their own trademarks and that’s how Mies Van become one of greatest architect of 20th century.

Today modern architecture seems to be the dominant architectural style in the entire world, mostly in Western countries, but what is so special about modern architecture?

In early ancient days, we had some kind of architecture and followed the pattern of building houses with one material alone like bricks, rocks, stones, and wood, if you go to any temple or architecture that is at least 300 years old it is made of a single material like rocks, but modern architecture after the 18th century just made the magic of mixing patterns like steels, glasses, woods, and stones.

The glass in the tall buildings helps the sunlight to get directly into the interior space and also looks stunning with all the creative ways of fixing everything in the right structure and order.

European countries played a major role in bringing modern architecture into the world, The Crystal Palace in London is one of the oldest proofs of modern architecture built in the mid-18th century but unfortunately burned down in an incident in 1936.

Modern architecture does change the style of building and the ambiance it gives to people from outside and inside, by using steel, glasses, and flat broad rooftops along with reinforced concrete with plain colors like white, grey modernism in architecture gave a new look to the world of architecture.

Neoclassical Architecture

The grand scale of buildings and simplicity of geometric forms, it has a reference to Greek and Roman architecture. The Capitol building in Washington D.C. is one such neoclassical building.


Beaux Architecture

Is a subset of neoclassical architecture and Greek rival architecture, which is characterized by order, symmetry, formal design, grandiosity, and elaborate ornamentation. Grand Central in NewYork is one such architecture of beaux architecture building.

Some of the architects like Frank Lloyd Wright, Le Corbusier, Ieoh Ming Pei, Erich Mendelsohn, and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, played a major role in structuring modern architecture and presenting it to the world.

The Louver Pyramid, BT Tower, and Royal National Theatre are some living examples of magnificent modern architecture and how they made an impact on the world and the art society.

India also has the impact of modern architecture and buildings like Auroville(Pondicherry), Cyberculture Egg (Mumbai), and Lotus Temple (Delhi) are some of the modern architecture in India and also help us to stand in the list world architecture forums.
